Questions to Ask Rosemarie

Bedroom Flooring
- will the natural yellowing in the maple be a problem? (aesthetically / resale value)
- Thomas (flooring guy) says clear maple and little exposure to light will minimize yellowing
- does it leave a square under furniture / rugs (where the light doesn't hit?)
- Thomas says the square will fade (takes from 2 weeks to 6 months)
- will using authentic hardwood next to the engineered wood be to our disadvantage?
- would the two different colors of wood meeting at bedroom / living room be a resale problem?
- should we put wood (or tile) in the master closet?
- should we put the same flooring from the family room in the bedroom?
- will engineered wood help resale value, and will mixing engineered wood with real wood be strange?
- would the color of the living room wood look okay in the bedroom?
- what about a dark wood floor?
- would we need to lighten the walls, or just add more lighting?
General Flooring
- do we need to keep the kitchen flooring the same as a tile we are already using?
- what about wood in the kitchen?
- would wood in the hall look better / flow better / make less kinds of flooring at entrance?
- good/okay to keep spare bedrooms carpet?
Bathroom Remodel
- are vessel sinks a good idea?
- what about two separate mirrors?
- two vanities and a cabinet in-between (slightly taller)?
- enlarging shower & using corner tub = good idea?
- what about using an acrylic tub versus cultured marble?
- will eliminating the tub hurt resale value? (custom walk-in shower)
- is Silestone for bath counter a good idea?
- should we use the same material for a backsplash, or tile to match the floor?
- do we need to replace the other slabs of cultured marble with tile (same as floor) or counter material?
- how could we add storage to the room (besides adding center cabinet)?
- will designer (and possibly trendy) faucets help, hurt, or have no effect on resale?
- if we do a corner tub & larger shower, what layout would look good?
- should the bathroom cabinets match the kitchen cabinets?
- is a light wood like maple or birch a good idea for the bathroom cabinets?
- should the guest bath have the same cabinets and/or counter top as the master?
- should we use frosted glass in the bathroom cabinet doors (possibly lighted)?

Addition Ideas
- which designed floorplan looks better?
- is moving the kitchen out a good idea?
- will it cost us a lot that we won't get out of a resale, or will it help to be an updated, larger space?

- what flooring should we put in the laundry room?
Rental Questions
- what should we do to get ready?
- does financing need to be in place already and for how much?
- is it best to have a corporation set up before we look for houses?
- what's the best way to:
- get renters (Rosemarie, newspaper?)
- retain renters
- get your money on time (other than threat of eviction)
- should we use a property management company or do it ourselves?
