CMS Functionality Report

Starr Hoffman

Spring 2007

CMSs can be used for a variety of purposes: website portal, document management, collaborative projects, blogging, personal information portal, and image management/display.

There are a number of open-source CMSs available, many of which are available for free download. This is not only a cost-saver, but the open-source allows incredible customization of the software for your particular application. CMS applications range from those which are easily edited through WYSIWIGs, to those requiring limited knowledge of HTML and PHP, to those which require an experienced programmer.
